The cost of shipping glass off the Island of Macau was prohibitive so a solution for local use of the processed glass sand was imperative. All glass, when converted to a sand, has the potential to displace naturally occurring sands.

A global pharmaceutical company contacted Krysteline for a solution to de-package dry penicillin from glass vials.

With a comingled waste stream, re-using and refining any recovered materials from the MRF on site was key. Using Krysteline's Implosion technology the mixed waste is separated and glass reduced to a sand.

A solution was needed for waste produced on the island, and the associated export costs. Research lead to Krysteline with years of experience with glass recycling within isolated island communities.

Guernsey's last landfill site, is scheduled to be full in 2022. Plus the high costs of shipping waste to the UK led to the development of a new strategy for recycling their own glass.
